Help

How MahiLedger works

What the product does, who each part is for, and where to find the detailed guides. Every workspace also carries its own help, written for whoever is signed in.

Starting out

The questions worth answering before you open an account.

What MahiLedger is

Double-entry accounting software for small businesses, and a practice console for the accounting firms that serve them. One system, so a firm and its client are looking at the same books rather than emailing spreadsheets at each other.

What a workspace is

One company's books — its accounts, its customers, its invoices. Nothing crosses between workspaces. You can belong to several, and the switcher groups the ones you own separately from the ones you reach as somebody's accountant.

Trying it without signing up

The demo is a full workspace with a year of realistic history, cloned fresh for each session. Everything works — post an invoice, close a period, run the reports — and the whole copy is deleted when the session expires.

Bringing existing books across

A setup wizard takes the closing balances from whatever you used before, including unpaid invoices and bills as real documents you can then receive payment against, and your asset register so depreciation continues rather than restarting.

Who each part is for

Four groups, and what the product gives each of them.

Businesses

Invoicing, bills, bank reconciliation, the ledger and the statements. If you have an accountant, you can engage them from inside your own workspace and end it the same way.

Accounting firms

A practice console over every client: the roster, who is staffed where, jobs and their deadlines, and a request inbox. Your firm keeps its own books in the same account, in a separate tab, so the two are never confused.

Students

A full workspace on a time-boxed free plan, with every feature a paying business gets. It is the real product rather than a teaching mock-up, so what you learn transfers.

Clients with portal access

Read-only access to the documents a company has shared with you, and a way to ask about one. No ledger, no reports, nothing about anybody else. If you have a portal sign-in, the help inside it is written specifically for you.

Financial service providers

Banks, insurers and consultants — where this stands today.

There is a waitlist, not a portal

Provider listings are not live. Joining the waitlist records your interest and what you offer; it does not create an account, and there is nothing to sign in to yet. We would rather say that plainly than show you a login that does nothing.

What you would get

A listing businesses on the platform can find, and introductions to the ones whose published needs match what you do. Nothing from anybody's books is ever visible to a provider — only what a business chooses to publish about itself.

How to reach us in the meantime

The waitlist form on the service providers page, or the support address below. Both reach a person.

Help inside the product

Where the detailed guides live, and why they are not on this page.

Every screen has a guide

Once you are signed in, Help & Support carries articles for every part of the product, grouped by how much you already know: the concepts first, then the everyday jobs, then step-by-step procedures, reference tables, and what to do when something is refused.

It cannot fall behind the product

The articles ship with the features they explain, and a test fails the build when a screen has no guide. That is deliberate: help kept somewhere else goes quietly out of date, and nobody finds out until a customer does.

Quick help beside what you are doing

A panel opens alongside any screen with the guide for that screen, and stays open while you work through it.

Videos and documents

Where a written guide is not enough, articles carry short videos and downloadable documents, targeted to the kind of account you have so you are not shown a practice walkthrough when you run a shop.

Still stuck?

The demo answers most questions faster than any page can. If it does not, write to us — the address below reaches a person, not a form.
